Rain & Clearing
50 Ther. Wednesday OCT. 10,,th 1894 N.W.Wind.

Last night was extremely stormy
throughout; it rained violently from
soon after dark until after sun rise
this a.m. and the wind blew a gale
that shook the house. It cleared off
before dinner time. Chas Adams brought
his little boy for advice & medicine.
Afternoon I rode over to see Sarah Hammond.
There is to be a political meeting
at "Olney" tonight. Mr. Williams the
democratic candidate for congress
from this (the 6th district) and others are
to address the meeting. A band of music
passed here & played "I wandered today
to the hills Maggy." at Sandy Spring.

Clear

41°Ther. Thursday 11,,th N.W.Wind.

Beautiful autumn day, cool enough
to be pleasant without being cold.
I was about home all day except to
go to the mill for the papers.
Our well is nearer dry than ever before
there being barely 3 feet of water in it
whilst 16 feet is about the usual depth.
It supplies four families, besides
two schools with drinking water and
to use in cooking. Our own family &
Mrs. Robison's have been able to use it
also for washing, thus far but unless
it increases in flow, we will be obliged
to stop it.

Clear

Ther.40 FridayOCT. 12,,thth, 1894 N.W. & S.E. Wind.

There was frost this morning for the
first time this autumn in the vicinity.
Bro Chas was here. I drove over to see
Bro Richard again home to dinner.
Afternoon I loaned the horse & surry
to Edwd & a party of young folks from
next door, including the Duck's to go
to the Patuxent River at Riverside for
a "boating party."

Rain
Ther. 50° Saturday 13,,th S E. Wind.

Commenced raining about sunrise
& continued until afternoon, when
it seemed to clear off & the sun came
out for an hour or two, but after
supper it rained again in showers.
I was called up to see Jas. T. Henderson
who is quite a sick man with high
fever, constant headache, and feeling
"chilly" with a temperature of 103.3/00.
I went to the store before dark and
up to see Henderson again after supper.
Edwd went to the store after
dark for some articles for the house.
