This has been a beautiful and
spring like day notwithstanding
it looked so threatning last evening.
After breakfast we all (except
Harriet & little Dora) went
to "Riverside" to be present at the
interment of my dear brother
Charles in the cemetery. Willie
took me in his "Jagger." Edward
bringing Fanny, Dora, & Jimmy
Jackson. It was the most impressive
and touching burial I ever
attended, none but near relatives
& a very few intimate friends being
present (seventeen in all) instead
of a large gathering, the funeral
having taken place yesterday when
all were invited. J Jackson left in
afternoon stage for home. Willie
& Fanny also left after dinner.
We all came home to dinner. Harriet
took charge of little Dora while her
mother went to the burial.

Another spring like day. Afternoon
I was called by telephone and
went to "Marden" to presribe for
the infant George Marshall.
Frank Hopkins called at office.
I walked to Ashton & back.
Edwd drove the carriage up to
"Fairfield" and took photographs
of the baby & brought the phaeton
home. Kate Stabler called to
see Dora. After supper Harry
Fairall came to practice telegraphy
with Edwd.
