Our guests were William E. Muncaster and Summers
Osburn. The former added much to the interest of the meeting
by introducing the subject of serving black-eyed peas
to be turned under for wheat.

The Club met at Saul Hopkins with a
remarkable attendance considering the weather and condition
of the roads, a cold rain was falling and freezing, adding
another to the numerous sleets we have had this winter.
Wm S. Brooke, Joseph T. Moore & Wm W. Moore were the
only absent members, and the guests were Dr. Hardy
Mr Peugh, Robt Miller, Chas Kirk, Walter H. Brooks
and John Bentley.
The meeting was organized by appointing Thomas
J. Lea forman. The minutes of last meeting here were
read, and the foreman informed us that the next
business in order was a walk over the farm, which
a number declined as it was raining very fast, and
the barn was the extent of the walk with those who
started, on the way there we saw a neat pile of hickory
wood, but as none of it appreared on the fire suppose our
host is saving it up for a colder winter than the past
one has been, the cattle were taking the storm out
in the field, though we were informed that it was
only that the guests horses might be housed in their
quarters. a large number of colts, both blooded and
Percheron stock were seen about the farm and looked
well, provender seemed to be abudant to carry them
