6th Mo 12th1875. Seventh day before [2] Meeting

The Club met at Jos L. Moore's upon
the established time of the month for holding its meetings,
having by a large majority at the last meeting,
decided to make no deviation from that time, except
in case of death, or for some very good and
sufficient reason.

With ten members present, we proceeded to
business by appointing Wm L. Brooke foreman. The
minutes of meeting held here 2d mo. 28th 1874 were
read, and on walking out the first thing observed
was the well kept lawn in front, bordered much
more beautifully than with a fence, by a thick
growth of Fultz wheat that promises a fine yield.
Our entrance to the garden was through the
famous box hedge, which has been flourishing longer
than any one present could remember. The garden
was in very good order, and does credit to our Hostess'
unaided energy; leaving the garden near the barn,
examined the stock, most of which were fine milk
cows, several Alderney's and part Alderneys amongst
them. A Berkshire sow near by had a fine lot
of pigs, though she seemed sick and was covered
with vermin. The other hogs had a hungry look, which
was accounted for, when we saw in the corn-house
about 2 bu. of corn being all that was found.
A bin of what was being kept, whether with the
expectation of higher prices after harvest, we did
not learn. The pasture field was short, though a
the grass was thick and rich; a part of it had
been top-dressed this Spring. A flock of sheep and
lambs were enjoying it, and looked well.
