In respect to the memory of Dr. T. A. Ladson who had been a
frequent visitor at our meetings, a few moments of silence were ob-
served. The Secretary was asked to write Mrs. Ladson for the Club.
S. P. Thomas suggested that the Club send flowerscard to the
widows of our former members, there being about six such ladies. The
Club approved this plan and named Fred Gilpin, Lofton Wesley to serve
with S. P. Thomas on this Committee.
G. A. WILLSON - How many members think that the cattle market
will be better after Christmas? Most think there will be some im-
provement.
F. F. WILLSON - Has a field that was seeded to cats and grass
this Spring, but washed very badly. How can he get the grass back
where it has washed out? Manure lightly now and add graass seed with
manure in January.
GEORGE G. WILLSON has sold a Hereford bull he had raised and
bought a new polled Hereford bull for considerable increase in price.
Was it a wise move? Most think it was if the quality was improved,
since the bull is half the herd.
S. F. THOMAS - Next year is locust year. is there any way
to com bat them? Probably some of the new sprays will control them.
Senator Davis will check with U.S. Department of Agriculture and
report.
F. S. GILPIN - Asked for Mr. Ligon what should be the price
per shock for husking corn that will yield about one-half barrel per
shock. He will be lucky to get it husked at any price. The price
shout be about $1.00 per barrel.
