whether a hedge around their yard would be
satisfactory. Some advised a hedge on the other
side of the road the entire length of the field,
some a pretty wire fence around the yard,
and others would have neither.

The subject of a movable fence was thoroughly
discussed, and it was concluded, that stock
would probably move it too much.

It is considered cheaper to buy currant slips
at 50.¢ a dozen than to try to raise them.

Has any one found that a pinch of salt

The weather here changed suddenly from a
rainy season to fair, and a beautiful rainbow
eased a temporary suspension of business.

The subject of poultry was discussed at
length, and some interesting information given
of the modus operandi of a successdful chicken
raiser near Colesville. He keeps his henhouse
warmed all winter, sets his hens twice
before taking them from the nest, and gives each hen
30 chickens, and has also what was termed an
"artificial mother" which is nothing but a bogus
hen that completely deceives the poor little chicks
