5 When bag grapes? When the size of
small shot. The grapes at Edgewood
that had been bagged were perfect.

6 What do for mildew on rose bushes? Powder
with sulphur

7 How make pie-plant grow? Make the bed
very rich and top dress with manure
in the fall.

There were few cabbage
worms at most places and canteloups
had no blight. Late cucumbers had
black spot from unknown cause. A
member gathers the late green tomatoes.
Spreads them on the ground and
puts hot-bed sash over them. We visited
the populous chicken yard:
the sight was good, and the large
flock of ducks swimming on the
stream in front of the house was
beautidul as well as good. Another excellent
view we had of both flocks
was on the supperx table.

Since our last meeting, our dear
friend, Hannah B. Brooke has been taken
from us. Mariana Miller was appointed
to write a letter of sympathy to our absent
members at Hermon and Falling Green

Our next meeting to be [in?] April
if all goes well.

Readers, Mary T. Kirk and
Isabel Miller.
