of a bee (suck the affected part immediately)
and one for quick sally lunn. 2 eggs 2 cups
of milk, 4 cups of flour, 1/2 cup of butter, 1 teaspoonful
soda, 2 t cream of tartar.

8 M. L. Roberts read an article on "Fish
culture" referring to the introduction of
Salmon into the waters of western states.

9. E. Hopkins selected a piece of poetry "Uncle
John" read by Ann Schofield

M. M. Miller read a good article by Mary C.
Ames on the injustice done to women in the
different departments in Washington; by
not allowing them as much salary
as the men clerks receive, for the same work
equally well done.

H. Moore, E. Thomas, J. Porter, R. Gilpin
S. Stone and C. Scott were absent.
R. M. Thomas was reinstated as a member
of our society.

After supper, we enjoyed a walk in the
well cultivated garden and then
adjourned to the "Cedars" on
the 23d of next month.

A fine asparagus bed one year old had
been successfully treated to ashes.
