R. M. Thomas gave us an interesting
account of the meeting held at Lombard
St. meeting house - on last First day 11th Mo
20th the last meeting to be held in the
old house, where so many of us have gone,
as little children, with dear mothers now
passed away. It was an impressive meet-
ing. Friends from other places were present.
Samuel Ash and others paid a fitting
tribute to the loved ones who have gathered
here, and altogether the occasion was a
solemn one.

J. Porter's sentiment we copy.

"Kind looks, kind words, kind acts
and warm hand shakes - these are
secondary means of grace when men are
in trouble, and are fighting their unseen
battles".

E. D. Bentley read a very instructive lec-
ure, delivered by Professor Putman. "Our
Ancient Peoples", the Mound builders in
Ohio.

M. S. Hallowell Excused

Ellen Hough's Essay "Martha and Mary"
was comforting to the Martha's, who seem
to be essential in a matter of fact world,
where eating and drinking, and where with
all to be clothed must be attended to.

"Sometime" touching verses was selected
by Eizabeth Holland and read by Ellen Farquhar.
