to keep beets. - Bury them as other
roots, with a covering of straw or
earth. Carrots are best covered
with sand.

Caroline H. Miller read a short
poem, from Harper - "The Rock
Where my Mother Played,"

Sentiment "It is not by change
of circumstances, but by fitting
ourselves to the circumstances
in which God has placed us,
that we become reconciled to
life and duty."
