I enclose the application of John A
Steinbeck of my Company to be discharged from the service.
He was enlisted on the 1 Oct 1811 at St Augustine Fla
to serve twelve months. He is a foreigner by birth, as his oath
letter before Austrian Vice Consul at Mobile (also enclosed) will
show & I am in doubt how to act in the matter of his
Discharge, and respectfully ask it be reference to proper
authority for decision.
