La goule bee durement
Vers la gent de petite foi
Tant quil les a atraiz a soi
Car cil qui petite foi ont
Et de povre creance sont
Sont moult legier a acrochier
De celui quis puet embuchier

Par mes lor est moult doucement
Comme daucun charnel delit
De bele fame avoir en lit
De bien boivre et de bien mangier
Ou de richesce covoitier
Et primes est moult doucement
Mais puis define laidement
Qant de ce les a aeschiez
Tant quil les sent bien accrochiez

Li grant poisson se gardent bien
Que il ne lor forfait de rien
EtQue savez vouz que li grant sont

Qui vont en la foi dieu doutant

Que nous si volentiers menions

Ains est et orde et malfoisant

que li malles au malle joint
I tant est ardans lor luxure
Quil oblient droite nature
La pertris est moult traitresse
Car a guise de larrenesse
Enble et coue les autrui oes
Mais li poucin ne li ont oes
Por le larrecin quele enfant
Or entendeiz comment ce vait
Qant les autrui oes a coveiz
Et les poucins a aleveiz
Tantost com il pucent senvont
Et com aperceu se sont
Qant il oient crier lor mere
Qui couezponus les a ou lor pere
De cele part aler sangoissent
Car par nature le conoissent
Et bien lentendent par le cri
Celi laissent qui les norri

Et trestout ades o li sont
