Translation

Red choler is associated with summer, fire, and Mars;
blood with spring, air, and Venus;
phlegm with winter, water, and the Moon;
black bile comes from earth,
autumn, and the influence of Saturn.
Whoever has too much of any one of these humors
would display its characteristics to the highest degree,
and suffer from that complexion.1"Complexion" is a term of art that follows humoral theory, referring to the the make up or balance of these humors.

Choler

Choleric men are fickle,
keen, impetuous, skilled, and spirited:
inclined to prove themselves good knights,
and very tenacious in fighting.
When they are upset they are quick and fierce,
lithe of body and judgmental of heart.
Their [humoral] imbalance produces tertian fevers:
where one feels well today but is feverish tomorrow.

Blood

The sanguine are sweet-natured.
They are temperate, honorable, and generous,
peaceful and unaggressive people.
They are kind and loving, inclined
to merry-making and fornication.
Of all complexions, this is the healthiest:
their imbalance produces continual [fever]1a formal type of fever, as opposed to intermittent fevers,
which can be recognized in the pulse and in the urine.
