de grant renom. Et chevalerie revint apres

in those days the wise philosophers identified three
kinds of people in the world. And they knew that
no one could exert his energy in such a way that he
could excel in two or three of these categories.
For there has never been a time in this world when
scholarship, fighting, and working the soil can all be mastered
by one person at any time in his life, nor can
one person learn and retain all three skills. It is only possible
for someone to learn one of the three correctly.
And for this reason they argued that there are
only three kinds of people in the world, not more,
because they wanted to investigate the actual truth.
And they sought a city in the world to live in, where
they could investigate the state of scholarship, and also so
they could most effectively reach out and teach
other people. And in those days, noble Athens was that city.
So they gathered there. And chivalry reigned there
together with scholarship. And from there scholarship
came to Rome, as is now very well-known, and chivalry followed
after, always staying close to it. And
