Meeting him, in a marvelous encountering, Reason
consoles with gentle moderation, and turns him away from the abyss
of despair towards the hope of forgiveness,
and as he avoids the fall and the course
of the unsteady world, Reason wondrously teaches
him to embrace the pattern of spiritual life,
then, elevating him exceedingly to the ascent of contemplation,
he leads everyone onto the pinnacle of perfection.
