Description

Jesse Root Grant II (1858-1934) was the youngest son of U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant and Julia Grant. He was a lawyer and was involved in several mining ventures. He campaigned for the Democratic nomination for President in 1908. He wrote and published a biography of his father "In the Day of My Father, General Grant" in 1925. After divorcing his first wife, his second, much younger, wife died in 1924. He moved to Los Altos by 1926 where he lived for the last several years of his life.
