Description

John Alexander Logan Jr. (1865-1899), born Manning Alexander Logan, was the son of Major General and politician John Alexander Logan (1826-1886) and writer/editor Mary Simmerson (Cunningham) Logan (1838-1923). He was commissioned as a major and participated in the Spanish-American War and was mortally wounded leading his troops in the Battle of San Jacinto during the Philippine-American War in 1899, being posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.
