Description

Alexander Francis Morrison (1856-1921) was a prominent lawyer in San Francisco who in 1910 established the firm of Morrison, Dunne and Brobeck. Their biggest client was the Crocker family with its various businesses. The firm split up and the modern firm of Morrison & Foerster represents Morrison's legacy. A graduate of the University of California in 1878 and Hastings College in 1881, the Morrison Library at U.C. Berkeley and the Morrison Planetarium at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco are both named in his honor.
