Mr. Brown joins with
me in offering my
sympathy to you -
although recent
acquaintances, we both
became so interested
in Mr. Stanford at
Aix les Bains, that we
feel a friend has
passed away. We
have often spoken of a
trip to the Pacific Coast
and the pleasure it
would be to see you
in Palo Alto. My
heart aches for you, Dear Mrs.
Stanford in your loneliness. If
the sympathy of friends is of any
comfort in such affliction, you
will have all you could wish for
We have been in Paris for two
months - and we return some-
time in July to America - Believe
