Mrs Stanford -

Dear Madam -

It was with a
sad heart I heard that your dear good husband
was no more - none can possibly feel with
you but those who have passed through the
same ordeal - I lost as good and kind a
husband as ever was, and at that darkest
time of my life - with two little girls and
not a cent I appealed to your self and
husband and not in vain - I soon was
appointed Postmaster and for that timely
aid, I shall always love you and Mr
Stanfords memory - J. G. Holland says kind?
deeds are stepping stones to Heeaven and
for that reason we know Mr Stanford was
a true christian, in its broadest sense -
and the poor have lost a friend indeed
