My dear Madame:
Although unknown to you and your family, I was so shocked at the news which was flashed over the world this morning, that I cannot but express my sincere regret, upon learning of the death of your esteemed husband.
I have always been such an ardent admirer of the kind, loving and generous husband, and father, that I trust you will pardon my simple token of respect, which I mean to pray to his memory.
