Mrs. Jane L. Stanford, Dear Madam:

You may feel that I am presuming, but I pray you may accept this letter kindly and consider my case charitably. No doubt you are annoyed many times. I ask that you please read this letter your self.

I have a fine cabinet of birds I desire to sell, will send a picture of the cabinet that was taken before I had to leave my home, and do hope you will purchase it

My husband died Aug 6th, 1889, and I was left to the mercy of strangers. My attorney not only took what he could get but assisted others in doing so and left me with my four children without even a home, in Sep of last year they put me out of my home that was built for me thirty years before.

All of my children were born there, all of my family who died were burried from there. Now as I have no place for my cabinet I would like to sell it as we really need the money to live on.

The cabinet is eleven feet high, eleven feet long, and three feet wide; the birds are all good specamins [sic]. I would like to have seven hundred dollars $700.00 for the cabinet although it cost much more. I also have a pease [sic] of land that my mother left me at her death, I would like to sell, as my attorney left me security debts to pay and some men would like to take over the land my mother left. The land is not improved but anything

Respectfully Mrs. R. J. Ivory Lodi San Joaquin Co Colo

P.S. I ask forty dollars $40.00 per acre for the land. Mrs. R. J. Ivory
