over the intense heat of this summer
it has been fearful — with it all Mr Covert
and I have kept well and I am all settled
in domestic affairs expect a new girl
the first of Sept I think [Jersan] regrets
leaving me — but I would not keep her
if I had to walk on one leg a friend of
mine came in one evening and remarked
" I expected to find you on flat your back " Mr Covert
hearing it said you will never see her flattened
