We arrived home night
before last & this is the
first opportunity to write
you that I have had
since I left San Francisco
& secured the beautiful
gift you send by Carter
I cannot tell you how
much I appreciate the

only on account of its own
worth but because it speaks

have learned to know
you & the Senator I see
the good & happiness
you are scattering on your
