While I regret that the questions
has been raised upon a special in-
quiry by me, which falls short of an
application for a lease, yet as I think that
without much doubt we should go there
if we could, I conclude that the best
way to settle the matter is to write this
which will naturally be referred to Mrs.
Stanford, and a reply be received sometime.

If I were to go there I should
make an attractive place but not
very expensive. We should build it for our
home, building simply a summer cottage
up here.
