My Dear Mrs Stanford

when I eceived your very sweet & kind letter I felt that I must write to you, as soon as you returned to California; but I have not heard of your return. Still I suppose you are, by this time, at your beautiful home & and that your Brother-in-law, in whome you were so interested, had a charming trip to Canada & has quite recovered. When ever I thought of you during the summer I sent you a "good thought". I remained nearly all the summer in Washington, in my dear home
