Hon. Andrew D. White.

Highly prized friend:-

Your communication
dated May 10th reached me, and
it is needless to add, has given
me sincere pleasure and satisfaction.

From the very first concep-

in the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican,

Under these mosaics there are
niches cut into the solid stone
for the twelve apostles in Car-
rara marble, which are exact

of Bernieri & Co. at Carrara,
Italy. I visited Carrara last
fall on purpose to see the ex-
