in value upon a gold basis to the money bequests according to the judgement and valuation of the executors in each case, which shall be final and conclusive.

It is my last solemn wish and desire that my dear brother Charles G. Lathrop, who has been unsurpassed in his devotion and loyalty to me through my trials and sorrows during the past six 7 years, and devoted to all the interests left me by my dear husband should with with my devoted friend Russell J. Wilson be retained in the board of the Southern Pacific Rail Road Directors as long as my interest or the interest of the Board of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior University therein requires their attention unless I shall otherwise direct.
I make this request of the Board of Directors of the Southern Pacific Rail Road, also of the Board of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior University. X
I make the same request of both Boards that my brother Charles G Lathrop be retained as one of the Directors of Pacific Improvement Company as long as my interest or the interest of the Board of Trustees of the University continues there.
