Chambers Superior Court
V.A. Gregg, Judge
San Luis Obispo, Cala., May 19th 1889

Hon Leland Stanford
San Francisco Cala

My dear Sir
I write to you not knowing to whom else to write.
I have a boy turning into his fifteenth year. After he has completed one more year in the Public school I [want?] that he should then enter the "Leland Stanford Junior University" and take his course there. My desire is that he shall if possible start as soon as the school is opened so that he may have the honor of being with the first class. As there will no doubt be [more?] applicants than there will be room I wish to have, Paul M Gregg, booked for entrance and that I may be notified when I can send him
Very truly
V.A. Gregg
