I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the [inst?]:
You are welcome to the rock and the use of the crusher. I am glad that I can be of some assistance in your good work.
Your former letter was in some manner mislaid before its contents were carefully considered. I remember that you wanted me to write to Mr. Timothy Hopkins about permission to lay a track through his land
