Your letter of the 25th ult and marked Nov 12 recd, Now you think I have not written you as often as I ought Now that may be so but I have really been flattering myself that I had done well. The fact is I have not been here much and this is about the only place where it has been convenient for me to write.

Clem has sent me in a profile of the line at Promontory avoiding the tunnel and it looks better than I expected

During the next week the Mormon Contractors say they will have the whole work covered from Ogden to [Monument?] Ph [then?] If I have the right of way secured, I shall be in [Condeteor?]

to assert our line to be the only one of the Pacific RR and that others must keep off our right of way.

Things have moved very slow here and my patience has been slowly tried but I believe now we shall do better.

There have been a good many men moving [wish?] for California I should [teamsters?] could be had from there. My hands are pretty well filled with this end and I couldnt whether I can do much better towards [prourey?] [teamshis?] than to suggest the trying of those who are moving wish but I will tell men they are wanted.

I talked over matters here pretty fully with D.O. Mills. He will call and see you and post you [wp?] as well as he can.
