Dear Mother and Daddy,

I've just been talking to Kay. She said that Bill said that Bob really wanted to have a talk with me about things. Of course Kay didn't know what was in the letter he wrote me, but evidently despite that he wants to see me after all. She also said Bob seemed to think I ought to be the one to make the next move. Well I had written him another letter last night; so I guess things will be worked out after all. I've decided though that I don't want to start going with him and him alone anymore. It's just too much fun having all these boys interested in me - at least one boy came over to see me everyday last week except Wednesday. Besides it's not going to last long. Nevertheless, I certainly don't like the idea of never going out with him anymore. I hope he does come over.

I went into Palo Alto with Ruth and Jane this afternoon. Since I wasn't going to go skiing, I bought some green and white pedal pushers. The gray ones have gotten sort of funny now, and I'm sure I'll get a lot more good out of them than ski pants this spring. Besides now that I had to cash the check when I thought I was going to buy ski pants I had to buy myself a present with the money or I would have had to pay Mrs. Belenky. And I didn't want to pay Mrs. Belenky with my Christmas money. I also bought some divine new music. It's a book of Chopin ballads. They are just wonderful, of course I can't play them, but maybe I'll be able to play part of one by the time I come home. When will I ever practice my regular music lesson now, but I don't care if I could only learn to play just one ballad, I'd be very happy. We also had some butterscotch sundaes. Three scoops, let's hope it does something.

It was so nice to hear from you. I'm sorry that you hadn't heard from me, but i'm sure you will get my letter soon. There isn't anything else to tell you, except about last night. I really had just a wonderful time. They had a dance across the street, and then one up the Row. The one across the street was a baby dance, and everyone was supposed to come dressed as babies. We didn't because
