Dear Mother and Daddy,

I got your letter telling me of
Bobbie's and Shirley's engagement. I really
couldn't get very excited over it at the
moment, but now that I have thought it over
I can think of a lot of things that Shirley
can give Bobbie that some one else might not.
Anyway I know that she must have to like
Bobbie awfully well to sit home with him all
the nights she has for him to study instead
of going to some college activity. I can't
think of many girls that would. At least
they are being a little more sensible about
the matter than either Charles or Curtis,
and I'm sure that Shirley is much nicer than
either of their wives.

I havn't seen Art to speak to, except
to say hello since Sunday. It's sort of
funny not seeing him because I used to see
or at least hear from him every day, but I
guess in a little while I won't notice it.
I have only seen Jack once since then; he
is a little more consciencous than
Art and spends a little more time
at the library. But I don't mind - I went out so
much last quarter that it is about time I
let up a little bit. I have been doing typing
lessons all evening. I can't hand in a lesson
until I do it perfect, and it gets sort of
irritating sometimes because I'll get down to
the last line of an exercise and then make a
mistake. Tonight it took almost an hour to
do one little lesson. I could do better if
I did stop and look every once in a while
but I have got to learn to type without look-
ing. I practiced for almost three hours today.
I talked to Dr. Popper today after lunch,
and I am going to have my first music lesson
