Unfortunately he is quite nabbed by Joan Sherman, but I really don't think I'd like to cultivate him; he'd be much too much trouble to keep. It's just the impression you create going out with him and having everyone so envious of you. Of course he'd been waiting about ten minutes by the time I got home, but he was awfully nice about it and I had to keep him waiting another twenty minutes while I got ready. Of course when I came upstairs to get ready all my lights were burnt out and so the time I wasn't dressing in the hall, I was dressing in the dark. I finally got to the dance and I made my desired impression on every one. Roantree appeared with someone else, but he eyed Bob MacIntosh and I think he looked a little worried, which was of course exactly what I wanted him to do. george was also very surprised to see me with him (he knows him) and all the girls wanted
