Dear Mother and Daddy

As you can see I got the things that you sent me and I was very glad to receive them. The little drinking glass was broken but that can easily be replaced. The dress is just darling and everyone was just crazy about it and they made me try it on for them. I can't wait to wear it; I just hope that I do soon.

There is going to be a formal dance on the eleventh of November and I can't decide whetehr to ask George or Bob Roantree. I really think that I had rather ask George, but I'm afraid it's going to have to be Bob because he's taken me out an awfully lot and to all of the medical school parties in the last two months; so I really owe it to him to ask him and I think that everyone will be mad at me if I don't, so, I guess that I will.
