It was one of the best times we have
had since we have been here.

I also had a ride Friday
afternoon. Professor Brown, the Art
Professor me. Miss Thompson
said she did not blame him, she would
too if she were a professor. Now I
only tell this because you seemed
to want me to praise myself a little
and she told me some other things
which I should much prefer she should
tell you than I. Don't be worried
about Professor Brown. This is the
first attention he has showed me and
will probably not be repeated often.

Helen says Mell told her I
was not coming home but "we" were
coming to see me. Well I did not tell
him so. I did perhaps say, or at
least something of the kind, that I
like California well enough so that
if you folks, meaning my own family,
could come see me I would rather they
would do that than that I shoould come
home. I apparently seems to please
him. I don't know how it will be in
the summer time, but now it is a very
great pleasure to just stay right
here and wander about among the moun-
tains and foot hills and enjoy the
weather. And those who have spent
summers camping on the coast describe
it as being delightful and cheap.
One can rent tent houses and cottages
very cheaply and they are provided
with the necessary living utensils
and being in the fruit and vegetable
time one can live very cheaply, so
