Nellie came home just about one-thirty. She was not wet and well satisfied with the trip. They had some snow and snow balling which was a compensation you know.

We have had a pleasant Thanksgiving on the whole. Winnifred invited us to dinner at Lauro Hall and we had a splendid dinner and such a pleasant afternoon. Mrs. Ray acted as chaperon and we sat at the boys table. There were about ten of us in all. About five o'clock we went to Mayfield and bought some English Walnuts, popcorn and the popper. Then came back to our house and made candy, popped the corn and told stories.

Friday morning we went to San Jose to shop. I invested in a pair of shoes, some hose, pair of rubbers, pair of gloves, an umbrella and some china at the Chinese store. I have a teapot and creamer, also three cups and saucers. They were cheap but I want to have a tea table when I come hoome. So many have them here, and when your friends come even for a little while serve tea and wafers. I think I shall have to call the teapot Mama's christmas present, but she will have to wait till I can bring it home.

I don't know what we can give the boys, that is Mell and Emery. If you can think of anything all right. I'm not much in favor of shaving mugs; though they are all right. On account of spending my money on the necessities of life, I shall not have very much before Christmas.
