then I really feel. And its in this inner me that Iknow the wholeness and unity lies
which in you is more open and visible. And here our love has its meaning for it provides
the key the unity the meaning for all the really important things.

Just incidentally I think the reason I really love history so my field is that
it allows me to explore and express the ideas and values that are really deep down most
important to me and I suspect music does this for you too. And I wouldn't be surprised
if over the years in lots of quiet conversations we come to fell much of the richness
of each others fields in expressing ideas which we share together for I see in reading
over the list on the last page that you too value most of the same things might work?
and this they won't be specialties but further points of communication and enrichment
for both of us.

For a little news now: Last night MAC and I and about 25 others from
here went to the Techniscle Hochschule in Stuttgart for an exchange visit- dinner
dancing and conversation. We were both tired and weary but the evening was
wonderfully relaxing hence my all's might with the world feeling today. We danced
a little (she is a fine dancer incidentally and it was really fun after 2 months of
more expect at the Ball of Nation ) and talked a lot with a fellow from Scotland and
one from Texas (a Fullbright scholar and very nice quiet modest guy). Didn't speak
much German but it was a fun evening.

Well darling it's now 1:15 and the mailman came at 12:30 so I didn't
get this letter in the mail and I've missed you today. I'm sorry honey but now
I'll add to it this evening make this one a little extra big to make up for
it. Also I've already showed it to Mary Jeanette and we talked for about 15 minutes
about such matters- she's in a state of confusion and indecision right now which regard
to her and Tony and she needed a quiet sincere talk. And I also want to show this to
MAC and maybe talk with her since we've been talking about pretty much this for several
days now- off to study German for 40 minuitts before class back this evening to
say Hi again. Hot Dog! Twice in a day again ( and think about you all day long!0
I love you!

Hi again sweetheart! It is now 8:40 pm and I've just finished my weekly reading of
Times Mag. Must now pack for tomorrow and try to finish up still incomplete music paper then to
bed early ( I hope 10 pm.). I get yet another letter form you this afternoon explaining
your planned evening with our married "boyfriend" I had wondered what you had done
since in the letter that came this morning you referred to the "wonderful evening". But
now the earlier letter is here and I have it figured out. and I get a kick out of your
visiting married couples it reminds me of the standard feminine trick of inviting the
boy to such evenings to "show how happy all my [named?] friends are." Is that the
motive for my invitation for when I'm back? 'Cause when I see that 4 year old
daughter I'll be a goner as if I were't already! Maybe in 2 or 3 or 5 years
we can be somebody else's example of "married bliss" (or is it blitz" ?!) Anyway it
sounds like your evening was fun just the kind I enjoy spending quiet talk
and food and dancing or coads etc in a home rather than the typical college big party time. I look forward a lot to the chance to meet Joe and family next year.

I was kind of surprised that you sent my letter about Charles on to your [folks?]
