My darling - 30.5.60
Happy Memorial Day! And the next holiday we celebrate will be Reunion Day, which
comes on June 11 this year, incase you hadnt heard! Only 12 days away now, which
doesn't seem like so terribly many at all - watch 'em zoom by! Dig in and study
hard on your finals - you don't have any distractions to provide you an excuse. I know June 11 will seem sort of close by then, but no fair thinking too much about it until
Tuesday at 10:05! o.k? o.k.! To rephrase an old cliché: Love helps those who help themselves.
And just about the time you get this letter I'll be buried under my lit final - Friday: 8-12.
So you think kind thoughts for me too about that time. I still have tons of reading to
do for it, which it is very hard to stay awake over most of the time.

Sorry I didn't write you yesterday sweetheart, but I got involved in trying to straighten
up my earhtly possessions here and pack a few of them before the last minute rush on
Friday afternoon (when I must also pack+mail my books home). Then at 11 AM. Dick
and I went down to the Krauters for a visit. We had a large delicious lunch, just sat
+talked for a while, and Dick + I took pictures of us all in the living room. Then we
all went over to the church (the Evangelische the old one in the middle of town) where
we climbed up into the bell-tower to look out over and photograph the surrounding
area. It was rainy but I still hope to have gotten some decent shots. And Saturday
afternoon I had gone down and walked around town with camera in hand in
the sunshine, so I do have some pictures of Beutelsbach to show with you when I
get home.

Today it is cold and foggy here on the Bay - a good day for studying and not
much else. Makes me mad too, 'cause I got some Lederhosen Saturday and
it's almost too cold to wear them (I'm enduring the goose-bumps though). I really like
them - they're styled like bermudas, but will never wear out or need washing! They're
dark gray (charcoal) and very comfortable too, as you will see this summer! Cost: $8.

Well, sweetie, I better get back at my reading. You are in my heart + thoughts
constantly darling, and I can hardly wait for these next few days to rush by until
I can squeeze you tight + close to me again. Oh boy, do I love you! Hot Dog!!
always,
Your George
