RECEIVED Mar 28 1945 PRESIDENT'S OFFICE
MR. D.B. Tressider President Stanford University
Dear Sir:
I received your most welcome letter addressed to Stanford's Alumni in the service.
Since I left Stanford I have really been able to see and realize what a good education means to a man. I plan and hope to be able to return to Stanford as soon as this war is over!
What I want is some course of study that will help me later in the insurance and Real Estate business. Most of all I hope Stanford offers some good practical courses that will help me in these lines. Something that can be used after I finish school. I think the University committee for shaping veterans programs is a fine thing. I know I can use their help.
I'll be married when I return and so plan to live off campus. Under these conditions I believe I can get the best out of my studies.
These are my ideas as you asked for them. Thank you very much for your interest in what the serviceman wants.
Env. to Records Bureau
Most sincerely, A/C Charles Boatman Jr. USNR 6th Batt. Wasp BKS. U.S.N.P.F.S. St. Marys College, California
