I was happy to hear you were well and getting
stout which is a sign you do not fret much
you do not hold out any thing tempting
to induce me to visit Bathurst; a cross
husband and a [wet?] house is not what
every woman would undertake a long
journey for. I think you might have got
the place made a little more comfortable
[ruing?] the time you have been up for your
own sake if not for mine £15 or 20 would not
ruin you particularly as you build on
own [farm?] and you will be paid for house
rent, and it would make [indecipherable] deal in
my comfort and the Children's and besides
it would have given you some employment
and amuse your mind & [indecipherable] you more
good than sitting pouring over what could
not be mended. I have not heard from
the [indecipherable] but I saw Mr Keane yesterday who
says he expects to stay 6 or 9 months at the
orphan School but no time is fix; and
he thinks it probable that you will remain

at Bathurst until then, but it is only
conjecture and he does not believe you
will be sent to New Castle: perhaps Mr Scott
is keeping you at Bathurst out of the way
to prevent you going to P M or New C
but cannot tell the Governor that. but
I have almost addled my brain with con
jectures. I saw Jonathan this morning but
I am to see him again on Monday when we
are to plan for our journey and I will write
the result to you Thursday therefore you
must remember and send for my letter
on the following Monday for that
I think is the day the post arrives in Bathurst
if you intend meeting me at Colleto; but
Johnathan says he will go on the way to
OConnel Plains if I go up & all be well we are
thinking of being at Colleto on Wednesday [17th?] but
you must hear from me again before you start to
prevent disappointment as our stay at Bathurst
is so uncertain I had better leave [indecipherable] & [indecipherable]
you will be pleased to hear that [indecipherable] has made
a very handsome apology for her conduct
