Vienna 19 Aug 1860

My dear Macarthur,

After having so lately got you
to Europe, it is very provoking
to be again seperated from
you – at any rate, I will do
my best to replace verbal
conversations, by sending
you a few lines –

As I think that Sibella may
have described to Emily the
earlier portion of our tour,
I will take it up at Coburg
which we left on Monday last
Our stopping Places since have
been Nuremburg - Ratisbon [Bavaria]
Strasburg, Lintz [Linz] & this City which
we reached yesterday.

On the whole, our Tour has
been very prosperous, The
Weather not so hot as is usual
in this part of Europe, during
the height of Summer, with Rain
occasionally, sufficient to lay
the dust – Previously to our
arrival in Central Germany
