the Weather had been cold &
wet as in England - We have
seen a great deal of Land,
cleared of the Grain, & the Stubble
ploughed for a grain crop. In
other places, the Peasants
were harvesting the Corn -

I should much fear for the
Horses in England, & fully
expect that Europe will have
to go through a period of scarcity
& high prices, which may tend
to fan the political discontent
so rife in many countries into
a flame.

Our present plan is to
proceed to Saltzburg on Wednesday
& to Munich probably on
Saturday - These will be our
last stoppage for more than
a day, as we ought to be in
England by the end of the
first week in Septr –

It afforded us much pleasure
to see my Cousin C. T. Barnard at
Coburg – We shall perhaps bring
