valuable to us. They are excellent little
milkers. I learnt that excellent young
bulls of the "Ayr" can be purchased on the spot, of
the best blood, at from £20-£30 and
Heifers at from £10-15. I should
like to buy two of each to take out.
The Ayr is not a good one to fatten, and
will not bear very rough usage, but they
say that it yields a larger acreable
produce of butter than any other. The little
Kerry is also an admirable milker and
will thrive almost anywhere, but query
would the race suit a hot & dry climate?
I propose to go to Bordeaux tomorrow.
I wish to acquire some further information
and to buy some wine for various people
in England. I shall get some for
Edward. It will be of a description
he can readily have disposed of
if circumstances should occur to present
