My poor Sister in law Lady Neill
has had deep and very
unlooked for sorrow the last
fortnight – For some three years
my youngest nephew has been
in Australia – and tho' not quite was
almost living with Mrs B: Neill –
he tried to begin farming there
but some how no success followed
and he set off with some friends
to Calcutta hoping some opening
had offered there – but on his
arrival there one of the elder
brothers (Eric Neill was there) in
good staff employ and he seeing
that there was nothing to be gained
in this Indian project persuaded
him at once to go home – and
some thing was then to be arranged
here – as far as yet [original text crossed out- yet] we know that
