I ever saw – and we are so glad to be
in a real country & to have left all
that wretched hotel life & "toilette"
at the baths – We are strongly advised
to winter abroad & to have a second
season of those waters, so that our
exile must last awhile yet, but
if Christian really becomes stronger
I shall think little of the sacrifice
that it is to me to wander thus –
His education is the serious thought
and altho I have a governess with me
of course it is desultory as compared
to school life – Both the children
speak French very well now.
The Dr says after next year he expects
Christian to be able to go to school –
what I shall do I cannot imagine
but I try now never to look forward
to what may never come –
but to strive to do my duty from
day to day – my regular letters fr
dear Libby keep up all my interest
in Australian associations
