Mild & grey After a bad night got up and
ate some porridge and went to Lady Byles for
lunch. Sorry she has to have all her teeth
out on Thursday. Came home at 4 p.m. and
went to bed and read the "The Smiths" by Janet
K Fairbank. Miss Baker called &
gave me some parma violets.
1 Feb Mon
Very mild day. Maj. Hardy-Syms & I
measured the house at 41. I came home at
5 p.m and had a rest. Got up, had dinner
and then studied shorthand
2 Tues
Mild day again. Another sad letter from home
and news of Mary. I immediately sent £10
through my bank. Mrs Hamilton took me to lunch and Hardy-Syms
was in again measuring house.
3 Wed
Mrs Aldridge endeavoured stalling in office.
Mr Elgood came just before lunch.
Very wet evening. I gave Mrs A
supper in office
