28 Thur
̲B̲a̲t̲h̲
Rang up Mr. D. Brown and found his wife
was very ill again; sad for her and sadder
for me. Maj. Hardy-Syms was in about
altering the show.

29 Fri
Lovely day until 4.30 when there was thunder
and hail, at which time I went home to sleep
very tired. Ate at Minerva Club with Misses
Furbank and O'Brien, the latter an awful
wooden sort of person. Mrs. Hamilton and
Miss Peak rang up. Meeting at Club so I
washed hair.

30 Sat
Feeling like old dishrag but Miss Hodgson had
day off so I had to be on deck. Mrs Aldridge
came and did not care a pin how sick I was.
Got to bed at 2p.m., ate nothing all day.
Miss Furbank gave me a lemon drink, then I
felt very unwell. Before leaving office I
rang up D.S. Smith about my play "Old
Blastus". She said it was a good play.
