7 Sun
Sweeping fog. Went out to ask after Lady Byles
in morning, dinner at Club. Then had sleep.
Very tired and depressed. Sent "Old Blastus"
to O. [Oscar] Asche.
8 Mon
Grey cool day. Pottered in office.
At 6 pm went to Mrs Hamilton for supper and then
listened in to Coq d'Or etc. Had Mother's
letter about the death of Rene. At rest at last.
9 Tues
Grey day as usual. Went to Douglas-Pennant
place with Miss Reeves and then around shops
to look at frocks but saw nothing. Back to
office. Mr Rhodes called. Did some shorthand.
10 Wed
Clearer day. Pottered in office and went out
on errands with Miss Lawson. After dinner with M. Collisson
in her room. In bed very tired.
