The girls have yeilded to the
pressure of work. and are working
well - after all our fears the Contract
will be finished by the time promised.

Sabbath 27th.
Revd. W. Mills preached in
the morn'g. Revd. Lavers 3 oclk
Mr J. Roberts a Bible class 7 oclk --
Florence Girty uses obsene [obscene] language in
the bedroom. when called to a/c't[account] she owned
she did. and that she tried to hinder the others
from saying their prayers by say'g bad words when they ^[sup] were on their knees [end sup].

Monday 28th
All [underscored] the ships washing taken
away ( 714 Dozn.) besides
347 Blankets, for which we are to receive
£38.19.2.

Teusday [tuesday] 29th
Florence Girty behaved so ill
and declared "this was no prison" she'd go.
that after due consideration she was
allowed to go. before breakfast. she has
been twice an inmate of the Infirmary
for Syphu. and yet [underline]will go [end underline] again to sin.
Ester Bruce brought a note from Mrs T. Smith
for her readmission. she promises to behave
better this time. Miss Galbraith has been
ill in bed all day.
